Tacoma is port city in Pierce County that is situated between Seattle and the state capital of Olympia. Tacoma is the second largest city in the Puget Sound area and the third largest in the state. The Port of Tacoma is the largest port in Washington State. Tacoma has been named one of the most liveable areas in the country, and was recently listed as the 19th most walkable city in the country. The scenic two-mile long waterfront along Commencement Bay is the perfect place for a walk, jog or some fishing. There are also many great restaurants along Ruston Way to choose from including Duke’s Chowder House, Harbor Lights and The Lobster Shop. Baseball fans will want to check out a Tacoma Rainiers game at Cheney Stadium. Some other fun places to visit in Tacoma are the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium and the Museum of Glass.
Ruston is a small town in Pierce County. Although it is nearly impossible to tell apart from the adjacent city of Tacoma, the predominantly residential area retains its status as a separate municipality. It is surrounded on one side by Commencement Bay and all other sides the city of Tacoma. There are some great dining choices, including Anthony’s Home Port and The Antique Sandwich Shop.
