Certified scuba divers can explore the Alki Beach Junkyard (an artificial reef composed of old tires, toilets and concrete structures)  The Alki Beach Junkyard housest houses an amazing assortment of sea creatures such as crabs, octopus, lingcod, shrimp, coonstripe, sculpins, rockfish, sea lemons, eels, sponges, sea anemones, and squid.

    History and Culture

    Walk along the same shores that Chief Seattle (Chief Sealth) walked in 1851.  He once greeted settlers landing on Alki Beach. Take a moment to view the small replica of the Statue of Liberty. Explore the archaeological beach remnants of the 1907 Luna Amusement Park and the two-and-a-half-ton anchor discovered by a local divers club. Take a tour of the Alki Point Lighthouse or visit the “Birthplace of Seattle” Log House Museum located a block from Alki Beach.
